Starbucks® FRENCH ROAST
The Story of French Roast
Muted with oil, the tumbling beans become eerily silent. A master roaster watches, knowing that if he pushes them a second too long, they’ll burst into flame. White smoke hangs down as the glistening beans turn ebony. This is French Roast and you can’t roast it darker. Straightforward, light-bodied with low acidity, and immensely popular since 1971, our darkest roast is adored for its intense smokiness.
Body: Light
Acidity: Low
Processing: Washed
Starbucks® Gold Coast Blend®
The Story of Starbucks® Gold Coast Blend®
This is a serious cup. Big. Bold. Syrupy, complex and refined. A coffee that means Chicago to us. When we opened our first stores there in 1987, we wanted to introduce a blend that would honor the city, and this is it. Our master coffee blenders brought together the heft of beans from Indonesia and Latin America with a bit of roasty sweetness from our dark Italian Roast. Creating a taste every bit as sophisticated as the neighborhood we named it after. And hearty enough to go up against the famously bitter winters.
(Gold Coast is known outside our Starbucks® stores as ‘Morning Joe’.)
Body: Full
Acidity: Low
Processing: Washed & Semi-Washed
