Learn How To Bake Challah With Your Kids! May 31, 2014

Item Number: 8011
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Learn how to make Challah, the traditional Jewish egg bread that is customarily eaten on Shabbat. Wake up and froth the yeast, then measure, mix, knead, shape and bake a beautiful braid of fresh bread. While waiting for our golden loaves to come out of the oven, snacks of freshly baked Challah will be shared. Two important mitzvot (commandments to perform good deeds) of Shabbat are to eat Challah and to give Tzedakah (charitable giving). In that spirit, every parent/child team will shape two loaves, one to take home and enjoy, and one that will be donated to a local food pantry. After this event, you too can have the sweet aroma of fresh baked bread in your home every week! May 31, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm in the Mansion.
