The LA Phil’s pioneering family friendly Symphonies for Youth mix music with fun and fantasy for children ages 5-11 making symphonic music come alive. Each Toyota Symphony for Youth concert is a dramatic presentation, conducted by a Dudamel Conducting Fellow and staged by theater artists - completely engaging and geared toward younger audiences.
Prior to the concert there are interactive art workshops related to the musical themes of the program as well as the "Musical Instrument Petting Zoo" where kids of all ages can touch and play real instruments! Be sure to arrive at least an hour early to enjoy these pre-concert workshops.
"Minimalist Jukebox" - This brand new exploration of musical Minimalism will delve into the art of rhythm, repetition, looping, phasing, and more, as well as the way these concepts play out in the orchestral music of today.
