Prepare to be delighted, moved, and thoroughly entertained by Tango! Soul and Heart; A Celebration of Argentine Music and Dance.
Tango! Soul and Heart begins with two spiritual pieces. Lamentations of Jeremiah is a sacred a cappella motet by arguably the most important Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera. The centerpiece of the concert is Misa Tango composed by Luis Bacalov. This mass features Tango rhythms and the iconic sounds of the bandoneón, an accordion-style instrument.
The second half finds participants performing traditional and classic Tango songs by such composers as Astor Piazzolla, which guest artists showcase the dance of passion - Tango! Soul and Heart.
Special Instructions
Performance is Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 5pm at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.
Winning bidder must return form to Choral Arts Society by April 21st to arrange for tickets. Form will be provided at auction check-out.
