Who will be "King of the Mountain"?

The apex of human history and the culmination of biblical prophecy now loom ominously as 6000 years of man's sojourn on planet earth fades into the distance.  What, then, should the inhabitants of this mortal sphere anticipate as history and prophecy become congruent?  How will it affect our lives, determine our decisions and define our destiny?  How can we understand the terrifying, tectonic activity that will soon envelope the earth?

In order to comprehend the great over-arching pattern and "progress" of history, it might best be understood as the battle for "KING of the Mountain".

Almost every boy in every culture has played the game, striving for dominion over any dominant protrusion in the landscape - a pile of dirt, a mound of snow - almost anything will suffice.  Other competitors gather to pull or push the one in dominion from his perch, seeking collectively to depose the reigning men of the hill, each secretly hoping and conniving to take dominion as "KING of the Mountain".  The greater the hill, the greater the horror and perceived honor.  The greater the perceived prize, the greater the conspiratorial cooperation and carnage.

Such is the nature of our world's final and conclusive battle for "KING of the Mountain".  It is the war of the ages.  It is a no-holds-barred, no sacrifice-too-great conflict to become ruler of this earth, exercising dominion from the most prized and protected "hill" on the planet.  It is likewise the eternal battle for the souls of men.  And the prize awaits the victor.
