Jerry is a calm and wise 8-year-old, 8-pound Chihuahua mix who came to us after being found as an abandoned stray in the Santa Cruz area with a younger dog named Ben (now adopted). Jerry gets along nicely with other dogs (will chase cats that run) and loves every person he meets. Currently in foster care, Jerry is crate trained and enjoys going for walks. He loves to curl up with you on the couch for a snuggle! Jerry sucessfully underwent heart surgery on 9/25/13 to treat a congenital condition called aortic stenosis. He has had his recheck with the cardiologist in October, he's now ready for his new home. He is feeling good but does need to continue with a daily heart medication.
