Lucy is a super sweet 12-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix who recently returned to our care when her elderly owner could no longer care for her. This is the second time Lucy has returned to us - the other time was in 2009. She had been viciously attacked by another dog, and her owner surrendered her to the Monterey County Shelter with bite wounds needing medical attention. Lucy's left eye had permanent damage from the dog attack, and recently needed to be removed. She has good vision in her right eye. Despite the bumps in her road of life, Lucy is amazingly resilient and forgiving. All she asks is a warm lap and a nice daily stroll around the neighborhood. Lucy does fine with cats and with small gentle dogs. She takes a daily inexpensive thyroid medication. For more about meeting or adopting Lucy, please fill out an online application.
