Corky is an 8-month-old terrier mix who came to us from the Salinas Shelter with an injured front leg. X-rays were taken and showed a fracture that had been untreated for nearly one month. After consulting with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Marsolais, the decision was made to allow the fracture to continue to heal (versus risking a surgery and possible amputation). Her leg will appear to be a bit crooked when the cast comes off in early February, but she should have good function. Corky is currently in foster care while she's healing, and is now available for adoption. We are trying to raise $300 to cover her medical expenses.
