Gotham Comedy Club may be newer to New York City (it opened in 1996) but in the years it’s been open, it’s sure made a name for itself in the comedy world. Its comedians are first-rate, with well-known comics such as Jay Mohr and Amy Schumer headlining every weekend. During the week, the club features talent showcases and charity shows, in addition to the late-night Tuesday gig, Comedy Juice, which brings together rising and established comedians and can see drop-ins from big names such as Jerry Seinfeld and Louis C.K. It’s even become the backdrop for many TV shows including Curb Your Enthusiasm and Last Comic Standing.
