Description

Collage

30x36

Acrylic on Mixed Media

The Very Imaginative First Graders in Miranda's class present their original characters created during an in-depth writing study of beloved author, Eric Carle.

For this collage, the children used Carle's technique of painting with acrylic on fine Japanese calligraphy paper to create a palette of patterned and textured color.  After that, their delightful character ink drawings were cut out of their vibrant paper palettes and reassembled using Carle's iconic style.
