1999 Valiano Chianti Classico Riserva - Castelnuovo Bernardenga  -  ITALY

1999 D'Arenberg Coppermine Road, Cabernet Sauvignon-(Robert Parker 92 pts) "One of South Australia's most brilliant Cabernets is d'Arenberg's 1999 The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon. A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months, it boasts an opaque purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of creme de cassis, lead pencil, new saddle leather, and spice box aromas. There is great depth, fabulous purity, full body, and superbly integrated tannin as well as acidity. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. A classic!"  Drink 2005-2020 Rober Parker

1999 Domaine Du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape- (Robert Parker, 92 Points) "A powerful, concentrated 1999 Chateauneuf du Papes was produced at Chateau Pegau. The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee boasts a powerful bouquet of pepper, garrigue, black fruits, and earth. Full-bodied and expansive, with sweet tannin giving it a more open-knit, accessible style than most young vintages of Pegau."  Robert Parker

1999 Valiano Chianti Classico Riserva - Castelnuovo Bernardenga (Wine Spectator 90 Points) "Brick red with a scent of sweet spices, black plums and a touch of rose petal. The palate exhibits delicate notes of fennel seed, white pepper and dried rosemary mixed with plum and cherries. The tannins are silky yet structured, softened by an oak protocol of ten months in Slovenian oak vats and another six in barrique. The wine's balanced acidity and firmly supported fruit end in a finish of considerable length. Full-bodied, round and velvety.  A powerful version." Ready to drink now.

The wines have been stored in a wine cellar, and have an excellent provenance.
