Description

Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France so it is only fitting to pair these two great wines together, a Bordeaux and Port, for one incredible wine lot.

2002 Chateau Leydet-Valentin, Bordeaux Saint Emilion Grand Cru.   "Hazy ruby in color. This wine reflects violets with a pleasant floral bouquet. The complex palate leaves a spicy, peppery feel with well integrated tannins. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Very nicely balanced.   Vanilla, coffee and berry aromas follow through to a medium body, with velvety tannins and a medium finish." (Guide HACHETTE).

1997 Romariz Vintage Port-(92 Points, Robert Parker) "Dark purple in color, almost black. On the nose, fairly open with notes of sweet fruit-blackberries, a little chocolate.  On the palate, more sweetness than fruit, but still delicious to drink now.  Very powerful, very sweet. A great "go-to" port." (The Wine Advocate)

The wines have been stored in a wine cellar, and have an excellent provenance.
