Description
If you are a Bordeaux enthusiast you know what we mean by the term, "Rare Earth". No wine in the world exhibits its terroir more than the wines of Bordeaux. Enjoy a bottle or two with a mushroom soufflé or a hearty beef bourguignon or simply enjoy a bottle at a time. Either or the choice is yours once you become the winning bidder.
1989 Chateau De Fieuzal Passac-Leognan, Grand Vin de Graves -"Fieuzal's 1989 exhibits a deep ruby/purple color with some lightening at the edge. This lavishly-oaked wine displays copious quantities of toasty new oak as well as earth/herb-tinged red and black currant fruit in its moderately intense bouquet. On the palate, the wine reveals medium body, low acidity, and elevated tannin in the finish. It is a more compact, leaner style of wine than its slightly sweeter, fleshier sibling, the 1990. Ready to drink now." Robert Parker
1989 Chateau Sociando-Mallet, Haut Medoc - “Once again this estate revealed its excellent quality/price ratio. As one taster so appropriately stated after learning the identity of both the 1989 and 1990 Sociando-Mallets, "I'd rather have the '89 or '90 Sociando-Mallet than the '89 Margaux or '90 Mouton in my cellar." Both wines showed surprisingly well, performing at second or third-growth levels. The 1989 reveals a youthful, unevolved purple color, followed by a sweet nose of black fruits, minerals, and vanillin. The wine is extremely young (much more so than most 1989s), with medium to full body, good tannin, and not nearly as much of the vintage's soft, evolved personality in evidence. Dense, rich, and concentrated.” Robert Parker 90 Points
The wines have been stored in a wine cellar, and have an excellent provenance.
