Get ready for an amazing Summer at Mermaid Art Studios! Choose (1) one-week session and enroll for EITHER the morning session OR the afternoon session.

This summer, we're offering a terrific weekly collection of genre-specific classes.

Specific classes will be offered for the following age groups:
5-7, 8-10, 11-15, 15+ (portfolio prep)

Morning: 9:00a - 11:30a OR Afternoon: 1:00p - 3:30p

Summer Sessions & Dates

June 23 - 27 - Claymation Week!
Students will create their own stop-motion video using clay! See some of our other great claymation videos on our blog.

July 7 - 11 - Mosaic Week
Mosaics are created with found or built objects creating a strong surface. During class, students will be inspired by techniques from Spanish artist Gaudi.

July 14 - 18 - Life Size Mural Week
Mermaid Art Studios owner Denine Wish is an active member of the mural arts community in Philadelphia. Color and size are extremely important in mural work and students will paint a mural and learn the entire process all at Mermaid!

July 21 - 25 - Engineering Week
Create-your-own invention! This class combines problem solving, concept development, and inventing solutions. Students will construct their own personal idea from start-to-finish!

July 28 - August 1 - Ceramics/Clay Week
Learn the power of clay! Understand its history, see where it can be found in Ambler, and what we can create with it! Students in this class will make some incredible pieces!

August 4 - 8 - Design Your Own Furniture Week
Furniture Design is a great way to mix-art-and-function-. Students will dive into the history of the 1920s and see how the art deco period bridged the gap between creating what we need and what pleases us. Students will restructure furniture and create their own.

August 11 - 15 - Beading Week
Imagine jewelry, purses, clothing, and more - all with beads! Students will learn how to work with glass, clay, metal, wood, and found objects.

A Note on Drawing / Painting
Drawing and Painting is an integral part of all our week-long workshops. If you are preparing a portfolio or would like to focus on that instead of a specific workshop, please contact us at art@mermaidartstudios.com and we'll make it happen.
