This place is no flash in the pan (so to speak). Po Restaurant was ahead of its time when it first opened in 1993 and is now an icon of Greenwich Village.  From the first bite of the bruschetta of white beans warmed in garlic and olive oil, you know this small Italian restaurant delivers the kind of big flavors favored by Mario Batali, one of the creative team behind Po.  Other toothsome dishes include the Pappardelle with a ragu of duck and Veal Marsala with capers.  While you may think the ingredients come from the hills of Tuscany, they are delivered by foot or bicycle from local shops, and the fresh produce is delivered each day from organic farmers in the Hudson Valley.
