Description
Enjoy a week in this fabulous 100-year-old vacation home (recently painted in a shade of "historic grey") in beautiful Columbia County near Red Hook, New York (NOT Red Hook, Brooklyn). Renovated in 2004, the 2,800 square foot house is surrounded by two acres of land that features stone walls, a furnished gazebo, a vegetable and herb garden, peach tree, and a variety of berry bushes. In the house itself, there is a large, brightly lit eat-'in kitchen, a 20'x30' great room with stone fireplace and 46' flatscreen TV. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed. Downstairs is perfect for another couple or the kids, with two small bedrooms overlooking the back patio.
Relax in nature but near lots of activities, including: ASNY Museum of Firefighting in Hudson; Forsyth Nature Center in Kingston; Olana State Historic Site in Hudson; Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park; Culinary Institute of America (you can take a tour of this place, which looks pretty amazing!); Two Boots Pizza, Bard College (yes, the same Two Boots, only upstate); Rhinebeck Farmer's Market (alternate Sundays in the winter); Catskill Canopy Tours (ooooh, scary!) and much more.
