Description

Opihi are a prized delicacy in the islands, and collecting enough for a luau can be a dangerous task. Sure footing, a good grip, vigilance and a sharp knife are essential when picking opihi. This traditional Hawaiian necklace was hand polished from a Koele Opihi shell to bring out the beautiful colors that hide beneath the surface. The rope was woven of lauhala leaves to about 16" long with extra for tieing.
