Description

Bid to win a day of 5 Traveling Science Workshops for your child's nursery, elementary or middle school!  Traveling Science Workshops are a MA state curriculum-based program that brings hands-on science into pre-K through 8 classrooms throughout New England. Many of these same workshops are the same activities that are included in the rotating hands-on exhibits done at The Discovery Museums throughout the year.

Dynamic science educators trained by The Discovery Museums will spark students' curiosity with fun, hands-on activities that strengthen problem solving skills, reinforce the scientific method and spark a life-long passion for science inquiry.  Traveling Science Workshops have been featured on Boston.com; to look at the slideshow, click here: <http://www.boston.com/community/moms/gallery/traveling_museum/> .

You can choose from a set of 19 workshop topics <http://discoverymuseums.org/visitor-information/description-and-fees>  that support MA state curriculum standards and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives. Topics include Light & Lasers, Rocks & Minerals, Simple Machines, Sound, Static Electricity, Magnets, Flight and the very, very popular Physical Changes of Matter. And more!

Parents and teachers will receive follow-up activities to reinforce what the students learn in the science workshops.  This is a great opportunity to do something special for your child and your child's school.
