John le Carre is the pen name of British author David Cornwell.  His third novel The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1963) became an international best-seller, and it remains one of his best-known works. Fifty years later, with A Delicate Truth, John le Carre continues to reign as the master of the espionage novel.
