Glencairn Museum presents religious life through the ages by means of a remarkable collection that illustrates religions as varied as ancient Egyptian, ancient Greek and Roman, medieval Christian, Islamic, Asian, and American Indian.

Let our guides show you the best the Museum has to offer by taking our Highlights Tour. The guided Highlights Tour is offered Mondays through Fridays at 2:30, and on Saturdays at 1, 1:30, 2:30 and 3pm, or by appointment. The Museum is only accessible through guided tours, with the exception of our four Festival Days. You can see all of the galleries through a self-guided tour during those events.

The 90-minute Guided Highlights Tour includes a 15-minute award-winning orientation video and ride in the original elevator to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline (be sure to bring your camera!). The guide will describe Glencairn in the context of the history of the Bryn Athyn community, and explain the fascinating relationship between Glencairn and its neighbors, Cairnwood and Bryn Athyn Cathedral. The tour also includes a visit to the Pitcairn family's Chapel and the Master Bedroom. An introduction to the Museum's collection of religious art takes place in a variety of galleries. The tour also includes a visit to Glencairn's stunning Great Hall and Upper Hall.
