For artists Beverly Harvey; daughter, Gena Stringer; and granddaughter, Camille Moenkhaus, art is “All in the Family.” Harvey received her formal training from Bob Tompkins, co-founder of the Mississippi River Publishing Company and instructor in his oil painting instruction school, under whom she studied for over ten years. “Now my favorite hobby, other than art, is golf. It enables me to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Everything I see, I visualize as a painting. The vivid colors resonate serenity, cheer and happiness which I try to show in my paintings,” Harvey said. Her paintings are displayed in art galleries, shops, country clubs and restaurants in Central Mississippi.
