Description

Solitude and serenity are yours when you book a stay at Dai Bosatsu Zendo's O-an Cottage for a private retreat, for creative work, or simply to be one with a beautiful 1,400-acre ecosystem.

Rustic comfort includes a main room with two single beds, dining area, wood stove, bathroom, closet space, and a deck that looks out onto the spectacular mountain scenery. There is also a full kitchen in which visitors will prepare their own meals. Deer graze just outside the door, rare species of plants grow along the trails, birdsong fills the pine-scented air, and Beecher Lake glitters through the trees. You are welcome to join in morning and evening zazen at the monastery just a ten-minute walk away.

On America's Bicentennial, July 4, 1976, International Dai Bosatsu Zendo Kongo-ji, a Rinzai Zen Buddhist monastery, opened its doors. Located on 1,400 acres high in the Catskill Mountains Forest Preserve, DBZ continues to offer an ideal setting for authentic Zen practice to lay and ordained Zen students of all religious and cultural backgrounds.
