A unique inlayed blue whale tail pendant to hang from a necklace made from redwood burl and olive wood inlay and this is the item that you will receive

The length is a 2.1" long (without the ring), the width is 1.3" and it is 0.23" thick.

The shape is that of the tail of a blue whale. First I made the base from redwood burl and cut the pocket for the inlay and then made the inlay and then glued it together. I allowed the inlay to bulge out similar to intarsia pieces.

I cut the redwood from a supply I picked up from from an old gentlemen who cleared old stumps from the electric company's right of way. The olive is from the trimmings of a working olive orchard.

It was sanded through multiple grades of sandpaper, finished with multiple coats of a danish oil mix, buffed and waxed with 100% carnuba

It is not water resistant or waterproof. It will dull if wet, but the shine can be restored with a waxing.
