Inside the museum, two large display areas contain the majority of the exhibits. Vintage and futuristic aircraft, prototypes, photographic displays, and models are on display.

In the Museum's main gallery, aircraft, and exhibits chronicle aviation history as far back as 1869. As visitors, you will make your way into our 27,600 square foot main gallery viewing over forty aircraft, exhibits, and many interactive displays. The museum is truly a unique experience with a cohesive theme devoted to telling the story of early historical and future aviation developments in California. Our walking tour, supported by multimedia presentations, will inspire and guide the visitor through an educational, and visually captivating tour.

In addition to the many full size aircraft in the museum's main gallery, the almost 8,000 square foot atrium displays over a dozen large scaled aircraft models. On exhibit, the remains of the T- I Thaden (Argonaut) an early all metal aircraft built in 1928 in downtown San Francisco. The Atrium houses our family lounge for the enjoyment of the younger generation and also a Restoration Shop, with its large picture windows, allows the visitor to witness the ongoing restoration process.

The Flight Sim Zone on the Museum's Mezzanine provides an opportunity to take flight in one of a variety of aircraft using high-fidelity desktop flight simulation software, realistic aircraft controls and multi-monitor displays (open only on limited weekend and evening hours).
