Have a taste for champagne? Helene and Paul Kocher are hosting a blind tasting of Champagne or sparkling wine and pizza party in their home on Friday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Blind Tasting
Each guest or couple will bring a bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine and a glass from which to drink. The bottles will be wrapped for tasting and scoring. Guests will rate the wine they taste from 1 (awful) to 10 (perfect), and afterward the results will be collected, analyzed and shared with everyone.
The bottle with the absolute highest score and the one with the highest score adjusted for price will each win prizes. This scoring rewards both fantastic bottles as well as inexpensive-but-drinkable bottles. Guests are welcome to bring bottles that are as fancy or as cheap as they like, so there will be a fun range of bottles to taste. Do you think you can taste the difference between top-brand Champagne and the type with a bottle that's more expensive than its contents?
Pizza Party
Paul and Helene will provide Chicago-style, deep-dish pizza from Patxi’s, so come hungry, thirsty and ready for a fun evening with CAIS parents!
Special Instructions
Each registration is for one person, so couples need two registrations.
Each guest or couple should bring:
- a bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine
- glass from which to taste
Attendance is limited to 70 people, and is for grown-ups only (no kids please).
