Description

This package includes a copy of Yuan Yuan Tan's book Ballet and I and an autographed (English and Chinese) pair of Tan's ballet pointe shoes.

Fully illustrated, Ballet and I (in Chinese with a forward in English by Helgi Tomasson and John Neumeier), charts Yuanyuan's career as one of the world's leading ballerinas.

Currently Yuan Yuan Tan is the Richard C. Barker Principal Dancer at the San Francisco Ballet.

Yuan Yuan entered the Shanghai Dance School at the age of 11, won many awards in her youth and at age 18, joined the San Francisco Ballet as a soloist. Only two years later, she was promoted to principal dancer, the highest position for a ballet dancer.

Her fame is much greater in China, as she is the most critically acclaimed Chinese ballet dancer ever, and the only Chinese ballet dancer to reach the rank of principal dancer at a major international ballet company. She has been featured in the Chinese versions of Vogue, Esquire, and Tatler. Currently, she is also a brand ambassador for Van Cleef & Arpels and Rolex.

Special Instructions

Ballet and I is currently sold out. CAIS will present a copy to the winner when more become available.
