The Mission Inn has been host to a long list of world leaders, celebrities and authors. Bette Davis was married at the Inn in 1945. Anne Rice incorporated the Hotel into her best-seller Angel Time, much of which was written during her stays. Serving as a place of inspiration for many famous authors over the past century, the hotel dedicated a row of guest rooms known as Author’s Row, as a tribute to the many works that were penned in those very rooms. Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Houdini, Albert Einstein, Helen Keller and John Muir have all been guests.
