The Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University, is the home to The REP, Conservatory Theatre, conservatory Dance and Playhouse Jr. companies.

Prokoviev's Romeo and Juliet was first written for the Kirov Ballet more than 70 years ago and is considered one of the most beautiful pieces of music of the 20th century.  Nicolas Petrov first choreographed this ballet for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in October 1971 at Heinz Hall.  It was the first American production of Prokofiev's work.  Petrov concludes his tenure at Point Park with another memorable production of this famous ballet.
