Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar was founded in 1996 in South Norwalk, Connecticut by Andy Pforzheimer and Sasa Mahr-Batuz. Today, Barcelona is the largest Spanish restaurant group in America. After spending many years in Spain reveling in the cuisine and culture, Sasa and Andy decided to recreate the fantastic flavors, beautiful design, and the easygoing lifestyle that they had so enjoyed. At Barcelona, great chefs from some of the best kitchens in America and Europe turn out some of the finest food in the Northeast: tapas both simple and elegant, specials using the finest seasonal picks from local markets and unusual specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean. Flavors are bold and the ingredients speak for themselves. Barcelona is featured in Wine Enthusiast Magazine's "Top 100 Wine Restaurants in America" and Zagat's "America's Top Restaurants," and is the winner of the Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence."

Barcelona offers an extensive selection of wines from Spain and South America and is one of the largest importers of Spanish wines in the United States. Today, Barcelona serves 40 wines by the glass and has refined and expanded their wine offerings.

Each Barcelona restaurant is a one-of-a-kind design. As with the food, the décor is classic, sophisticated and understated. Each space is different borrowing from the architectural traditions of Barcelona, Milan, Lisbon, London and Tribeca.
