DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

The most architecturally interesting parts of this large stone house date back to the 15th century, late Medieval, early Renaissance. The vaulted ceilings in the living room and a massive fireplace with carved Latin inscription recall an earlier life as the kitchen for an inn or monastery. In World War Two, the same room served as a town bomb shelter (never needed). The house is one block deep. At the rear, the avenue de St-Thibéry provides room for parking. Through the front door, you step immediately onto the tiny rue du Portail ("street of the portal"), which curves through the oldest part of Valros. The house is part of a row of buildings that follow the old town ramparts.

The house accommodates 9 people on three floors in large comfortable rooms. On the ground floor there is a dining room, with exposed stone walls and beams, a remodeled kitchen, with fridge/freezer, cooker, and washing machine; and a very large living room with vaulted stone ceilings, and an immense working fireplace - the room is furnished with lots of comfortable seating and is well lighted for reading. Outside there is an open two level area for alfresco dining and relaxing.

On the first floor there are four (4)bedrooms: 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, and a bedroom with 2 single beds with en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. There is also a separate bathroom with shower and WC.

On the top floor there is a bedroom with a queen sized bed with shower and WC, as well as a large and very private terrace.
