This painting is an expression of representational style reminiscent of work being produced during the 1960s at Indiana University where Hershberger completed a master’s degree in studio art.  This representational approach precedes Hershberger’s later work which is dominated by abstract landscapes and aerial views of field formations.

Hershberger is Professor of Art Emeritus at Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana.  He has been making art for nearly 60 years and maintains an active studio.  More of his works may be viewed at www.AbnerHershberger.com.
