Ever want to be on the bridge of a towboat pushing 15 barges through the McAlpine Locks?
Board a Crounse Corp. towboat pushing a full load and expect the unexpected! The crew provides a full tour explaining everything from river transportation to the vessel’s engines, generators and communications, the lock system (YES you will go through McAlpine), etc. There is a LOT of time for exploring and talking on this journey so come with questions and plan to take full advantage of the crew’s sense of humor. Come hungry; lunch is amazing. You really want to do this!!
Special Instructions
The trip will begin and end at the LG&E Center, at 220 West Main Street, Louisville, Ky. Transportation to and from the towboat boarding location will be provided. Please allow approximately six hours for this event. Three weeks advance notice needed for scheduling the ride with the exact date and time subject to adjustment based on when a boat will be passing by Louisville. Your flexibility will be rewarded with a great experience.
Please schedule this event between May 1, 2015 and September 30, 2015.
The participants must be at least 12 years of age or older. If one participant is under the age of 18 the other must be an adult.
A certificate for two will be mailed to the winner. Please allow two to three weeks for delivery.
