Ever dreamed of being a railroad engineer?  Here is your chance to be at the controls of a real 2,000 horsepower locomotive!


Item offered is a 3-hour trip for two in the cab of a Paducah & Louisville Railway locomotive on its tracks along Dixie Highway.


Ever wonder how a locomotive really works? How it gets traction on slick tracks? What’s worse than snow/ice? What the duties/training for the engineer and conductor are? You’ll learn all of this and more. AND you’ll receive a warm welcome, hear lots of history and be totally entertained by your hosts. This is a must do experience for anyone interested in trains.  


The participants must be at least 12 years of age or older. If one participant is under the age of 18 the other must be an adult.


 

Special Instructions

The trip will start at the Paducah & Louisville office at 1135 PAL Road in Louisville and will traverse the mainline past LG&E's Mill Creek Generating Station, traveling across the elevated Muldraugh Trestle and return.  Please allow approximately three hours for the event.


Two weeks advance notice is needed for scheduling the ride and the ride must be scheduled on Saturdays only.


Please schedule this event between April 1 and September 30, 2015.


A certificate for two will be given to the winner.
