Extreme Hog Hunting Adventure – Oklahoma!

In response to the State of Oklahoma opening up depredation hunts as part of the Feral Swine Control Act to deplete the abundance of feral hogs in their state, we are pleased to offer this extreme hog hunting adventure. Feral hogs cause severe destruction to the natural ecosystem and there are no natural predators to control herd size. The Noble Foundation currently estimates over 1.4-1.6 million wild hogs in the state of Oklahoma.

A base package has been specifically designed for the JA auction that includes 2 days of hunting for 2 people with unlimited feral hogs!  (Most all hunting guides in the state charge $250 for each additional hog!)  This hunt takes place on a private family cattle ranch that has almost 10,000 acres near the Red River in Waurika, OK.  There is very little hunting pressure on this property.

This auction is for serious and experienced hunters only.  No lodging, no food, and no guides will be provided.  (You will not be driven to an air conditioned stand where you will hunt with a gourmet lunch box where someone will dress and package your ONE hog of the day from a 50 yard shot.) Your hunting party must be experienced marksmen and hunters familiar with orienteering and stalking, who can physically handle walking 6-8 miles a day with gear in rough terrain.  It is common to be chased by boars or by herds and you will need to be prepared to shoot your way out of the situation as most indigenous trees have thorns.  Semi-automatic rifles chambered in .223 or greater highly recommended.  Additionally, side arms strongly advised in .45, .357 or greater caliber. Blaze orange highly recommended.

You MUST have a 4WD vehicle.  Alcohol is not permitted on the ranch before, during or after the hunt.  You must follow local hunting guidelines and laws.   While no non-resident license is required for hogs, there are specific requirements during deer and elk season that should be noted.  Night time permits are available upon request at no additional charge.  All hunters must consent to and sign a liability release form indemnifying Junior Achievement and the Ranch.

Hunters will be shown property boundaries by the ranch family.  There is a local hotel and restaurants 15 minutes from the hunting site.

Additional hunters can be added to this package at a rate of $250.00 per day.  Additional days can be added at a rate of $250.00 per hunter per day.  All additional fees are to be paid to the ranchers at the time of check-in.

Testimonial: I recently returned with 2 friends from a three day hunt where we took 38 hogs.  On several occasions, we crossed herds ranging in size from 100-150 hogs in distances from 25-1750 yards.  In most cases, we were able to successfully approach herds downwind from less than 75 yards.   We hunted with a .223 semi, .243 bolt action, and .308 semi.  If all parties had semi rifles, our take could have increased by at least an additional 25 hogs.  It took a day to get acclimated to the hunting conditions.  On several occasions, the .223 was unsuccessful in taking down the targets.  We consumed over 300 rounds of ammo during the 3 days. This was, by far, the best hunting trip we have ever experienced.
