From the private collection of Dr. Robert James Izant (1921-2004), the the founder of the Pediatric Surgery Division at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, serving there from 1958 to 1986.  He had  lifelong enthusiasms for watercolor painting and world travel.  

Collection of 18 turtles from around the world:  2 from Mexico; 1 England; 1 Korea; 3 Japan; 1 France; 1 Spain; 1 marked “Wilton” (probably American); not otherwise marked include: 1 of glass; 2 of stone; 3 of wood; 1 of metal; 1 of ceramic.
