Description

PS3 mom Delsa Camacho, will create, coordinate, and supply you with a fantastic art project for up to 12 kids at your next kids' birthday party.  Delsa is the hit wondermom behind Kelly and Jennifer's class projects (pictured).  All supplies included.

Spending the years of her childhood in the countryside of her native Dominican Republic made Delsa Camacho keen on nature. The Escuela Nacional de Bellas introduced her to the art world in her adolescent years.

In 1989, She attended Altos de Chavon School of Design, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1991. This led toward a scholarship for Parsons School of Design in New York and graduated with a BFA in 1993.
Maestro Julio Alpuy, Pupil in The Taller Torres-Garcia, an important legacy for Latin America, was her mentor since 2001 to 2003.  This experience, as well as her years of teaching for Studio in a School art organization, El Museo del Barrio, and Rivendell School, have enriched her work, and have moved her art into a different direction.
Delsa Camacho’s most recent works reflect woman’s inner power submerged in silence. The female form is showcased as the center of the universe and origin of life. Here woman is a force of nature, emulating its shapes, textures and colors. Delsa Camacho has taken part in various group and solo shows in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. Her work is on display at the Expo Ela 2011, 7th Edition of Etnia in Europe (Brussels, Liege, Nivelles and Tournai); the guest country is the Dominican Republic.

Her upcoming exhibition “Ode to Nature”, with the group M3 (Luanda Lozano, Delsa Camacho and Doris Rodriguez) will be shown at Saint Francis College in October 2012. She will also be included in a group show at Boricua College in January 2012.
