Artist Robin Young was a Shepherdstown resident of many years during the 1900's and early 2000's.  She was recognized in 2010 by the city during a joint exhibition at The Entler Hotel, along with local artist Joe Mayer (her first watercolor painting teacher).  Young is known for her paintings of nature and wildlife and her series entitled "Heart of the Horse" depicting the sensitivity of horses.  Painting on Clayboard, a surface not usually used for watercolor, her paintings are vibrant and unique.  She currently lives in Hot Springs, Arkansas and additional work can be seen on her website:
