Description
Get a taste of true California cuisine from sustainable food pioneer and world-renowned chef Alice Waters at Chez Panisse Cafe in Berkeley, California. Waters has been dubbed the Mother of American Cuisine and is known for using exclusively local, organic ingredients, hand-selecting her produce, and starting the farm-to-table food revolution. Chez Panisse Cafe opened in 1980 as an more casual offshoot to her world-famous restaurant and exemplifies Waters' philosophy of pure, fresh, and ethically-sourced food, stemming from the Slow Food Movement.
You and a guest will enjoy a lovely dinner paired with house wines and can choose from options like wild nettle pizzettas, baked goat cheese salad, buttermilk-fried chicken, or the signature seasonal fruit bowl (though be aware that the menu changes to fit the season, as only the freshest, ripest ingrediants are used!)
The winning bidder will also receive The Art of Simple Food II: Recipes, Flavor, and Inspiration from the New Kitchen Garden by Alice Waters, courtesy of Point Reyes National Seashore Association. In this book, Waters presents 200 new recipes that share her passion for the many delicious varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs that you can cultivate in your own kitchen garden or find at your local farmers’ market.
Rest assured: the environment, your local farmers, and your taste-buds will thank you.
Bon appetit; bid today!
