Description
Get away from it all with a two night stay at Frank's Place in Inverness, plus dinner at the Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station for up to four guests!
Frank's Place on Inverness Ridge is a charming Point Reyes rental home with panoramic views of Tomales Bay, spacious living and sleeping areas, Wi-Fi and an outdoor hot tub. This is the perfect setting for families on a Point Reyes adventure, a group of friends getting together, or couples seeking a secluded and romantic getaway.
This classic Inverness style home was designed and built by local architect Jim Campe in 1986. In the main living area, wood and tile floors plus high, beamed ceilings create an expansive and elegant atmosphere, while clearstory windows capture the afternoon sun. The living room, bedrooms, decks and hot tub all face out over forested parkland to Tomales Bay and the hills beyond. Here on the ridge, nights are dark and quiet, and mornings are beautiful whether clear or misty. The home is surrounded by lush forests that give way to open vistas and rhododendron gardens where wildlife viewing is abundant. Scan the gardens or the meadow below and you may see deer, a fox, or even a bobcat. This is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of hiking in Point Reyes or kayaking on Tomales Bay. Treat yourself to a soak in the hot tub as the sun goes down or have a drink on the deck as the fog rolls in and you may never want to leave.
You and your guests will also be treated to dinner at The Station House Cafe, located in the heart of Point Reyes Station. This local favorite has been serving the West Marin community and visitors to the California coast since 1974 and is known far and wide for classic American food incorporating many local and organic ingredients.
Owner Sheryl Cahill and Chef Wayne Pratt are focused on providing the freshest local ingredients found in and around the community. Famous for their complimentary popovers, menu delights include Lagunitas beer-battered wild cod, locally-sourced deep-fried Pacific oysters, grass-fed beef burgers with Point Reyes Farmstead blue cheese, housemade granola, free trade organic coffee, and herbs harvested from the Cafe's own garden. The cafe has drawn rave reviews from Gourmet magazine, Frommer's, Zagat, the San Francisco Chronicle and on the PBS series Check, Please! Bay Area. Whether you've worked up an appetite kayaking all day or lounging around Frank's Place, you're sure to have a scrumptious time with Sheryl and the crew. Before you come, check the cafe calendar for local bands or other special events that may peak your interest.
