Description

This is a photographer's dream package. Grab your bags and your camera and head out to Point Reyes for a special two night stay at the Motel Inverness Heart's Desire Suite, complete with a private four hour photography outing and lesson with renowned American nature photographer George Ward for up to four people.

Start your trip by checking into Motel Inverness’s Heart’s Desire Suite overlooking Tomales Bay and the newly restored Giacomini Wetlands. Like its namesake beach at nearby Tomales Bay State Park, this serene suite is the perfect spot for a tranquil respite. With two separate bedrooms, the Heart's Desire Suite also features a kitchenette, a large bathroom with step in tub/shower combination, and its own deck with mesmerizing views across Tomales Bay to the rolling hills beyond. The site has a large common space too, where you can gather around the massive fireplace, unwind with a game of pool on their championship table, or simply relax in one of their rockers while enjoying the expansive view of the restored Giacomini Wetlands. This is the perfect setting for wildlife viewing too, so keep your camera at the ready!

Use one of your days to explore the park with renowned American nature photographer and one of our beloved Field Institute instructors George Ward. George can take you to some of his favorite places or you can work together to customize your private four hour photography outing and lesson around your interests. Discussions may include light, depth of field, dynamic range, post-processing and most importantly, composition. George will help you identify your individual strengths and discover new ways to take your images to the next level.

An enduring presence in American nature photography for almost thirty years, George Ward’s images have been widely featured in national publications, magazines and for a number of major clients. George's intention is to faithfully convey the energy, peace and sense of renewal that contact with wild places brings. To the locals, he is most known for his Drakes Beach Sunrise photo, but you can see his much of his work in Audubon Society and Sierra Club calendars and note cards and magazines like Sierra, Newsweek, Outside, Backpacker, Outdoor Photographer, Nature’s Best, Smithsonian and Sunset. See samples of George's body of work here

Grab some friends and, of course, your camera and join us for this rare opportunity to get away and improve your nature photography skills from a true American master. Bid today!
