Description

Play hooky and take the weekend early with this Foodie Friday get-a-way for four in West Marin. Kick off the day with a visit to the Bovine Bakery, the local hotspot for fresh and organic handmade baked goods, including their infamous morning buns. Grab a cup of joe and a treat for each of your guests, then head out to Limantour Beach through the Bishop pine forest to enjoy the ocean views and build up an appetite for a special Cowgirl Creamery and Cantina cheese tour and lunch for four.

Situated right in the heart of historic Point Reyes Station, you and your guests will learn how the company started, how their cheese is produced, how to store cheese and best of all you will get a chance to sample the creamery's award-winning cheeses. You and your guests will enjoy a wide range of distinctive cheeses that are full of nuance and flavor. Tour includes lunch at the creamery, which includes one of their daily made, fresh bread sandwiches, a side salad and beverage.

The highest bidder will also receive Cowgirl Creamery Cooks, a new cookbook, from Cowgirl co-founders Sue Conley and Peggy Smith who spent decades in the Bay Area’s most loved and respected restaurants. The book is a collection of 75 of their favorite recipes for cooking with cheese, as well as their vast accumulated wisdom about tasting, buying, serving, and appreciating all kinds of cheese. More than 60 photographs of delicious cheeses, finished dishes, and the rolling hills of coastal California from celebrated Canal House photographers Hirsheimer & Hamilton narrate the story of the Cowgirls, the rise of the organic dairy movement, and the enjoyment of good cheese.
