Description

The photograph at auction is a silver gelatin "wet print". This means that it was not created using a computer or printer, but using the artisanal printing process of darkroom printing with light sensitive paper, and photographic chemicals. The photograph was made from a 4x5 large format negative, and processed in Sprint chemistry, printed on 20"x30" fiber paper that will be trimmed slightly in the finishing process. It is a split-toned photograph for maximum tonal range and depth. The photograph is printed on archival Ilford fiber paper and will last at least 125 years; a beautiful print to pass down for generations.

To give the buyer maximum control over the final photograph, it is being auctioned in an unfinished state. Upon winning the piece, the buyer will be put in contact with photographer Phil Garber. Phil Garber will assist you in having your new photograph finished and framed to the highest museum standards, with your input taken in careful consideration. Please note, finishing and framing costs are not included in the auction price.

Photograph is signable upon request. The image of the print seen on this page is a scan of the negative. The actual photograph may be cropped differently, and have a more pleasing tonal range.
