Commission Your Own Organ Voluntary

Item Number: 145
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
John S. Dixon will compose a three minute organ voluntary for you, with your input, so the music suits the purpose you have in mind and a specific instrument. This may be a new work or an arrangement of a familiar melody. For example, you could commission a prelude, offertory or postlude, for general or seasonal use; a wedding processional or recessional; a piece for a memorial service; something to honor a colleague for a certain number of years of service, as organist at a church or serving your local AGO chapter. There are numerous reasons to commission a special new organ piece.
Special Instructions
Please note the important little details, in case you have not commissioned music before: Copyright for the commission remains with the composer, but you have the right to use your piece for indefinite non-commercial use without further payment. If you request an arrangement of an existing work, that work must be in the public domain. Securing permission and paying fees for music under copyright is simply too burdensome. Please allow a six month lead time for this project, although a rush might be possible for a special occasion. Representative recordings of John Dixon's music can be heard online at www.JohnSDixon.com.
