What makes this rod special is the couple that makes it, Fishing Rod Makers Mary & Jerry Hutchins of Vancouver, WA. The Hutchins lovingly wrap each rod in various colors, this particular rod is purple and tan. Each year the Washington CfR Program receives these rods from the Hutchins' as a gift to the 14 retreat participants along with a few extra to be used for fundraising. The Hutchins generosity is truly a gift to each woman and the CfR program.

Mary and Jerry Hutchins began making rods for Casting for Recovery WA and Project Healing Waters in 2011. It is a team effort during the rod process including Mary turning the rods and saying a prayer for healing for the rod recipient, and Jerry sewing the rod bags.The Hutchins are wonderful, caring people that are giving back to the community in a big way.
