Description
This complete set of Mah Jong colorfully engraved tiles made of bone with bamboo backs comes in the traditional rosewood box with brass accents. Includes counting sticks, some blank tiles and miniture dice tucked away in a tiny box. This game is a kind of "rummy" and was featured in Amy Tan's novel "The Joy Luck Club". Before 1920 the game was played only by the Chinese, after which it become more generally popular. This set is estimated to be around 100 years old and has two cracks in the front panel but otherwise is in nice condition.
Set includes 4 tile racks with scoring infomation on the bottom of each.
