Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown, Jr. is an American politician who currently serves as the 39th Governor of California since 2011; he previously served as California's 34th Governor from 1975 to 1983.  In 1976, 1980 and 1992 he also campaigned unsuccessfully for President.
