Description

Dear Lizzie: Memoir of a Jewish Immigrant Woman is my grandmother's story. She told it to me in the form of a letter when I was fifteen because she started to cry every time she spoke about her years as a refugee during World War !. Since then I had it published, and I assign it every year to my Women's History class at the University of Oregon. Students love it! Half of the book is about her European childhood and the other half is about her immigrant experience in St. Louis and New York.

Special Instructions

My grandmother lived to be 100 years old. What's so amazing about this short book is that she was able to remember so much about her past through the eyes of a child experiencing these events. Adults will enjoy it and it's suitable for younger people too (high school and above).
