Description

FoodTrip: Tasting Jerusalem

This book offers a tantalizing portrait of Jerusalem's first-ever food truck , a part-art, part-performance project from the Jerusalem Seasons of Culture, that took place July 17-August 12, 2013. The project was masterminded by Jerusalem chef Asaf Granit who invited well- known Jerusalem personalities to join him  preparing and serving special foods. The truck stopped in a different neighborhood and served a different dish each day.

A Point of View: A Project by Tal Erez.

(classic ViewMaster wheels by Tal Erez + a ViewMaster)

 Tal Erez explains the project:

"The search for the single story that defines Jerusalem is an impossible task. For this commission, I've contemplated multiple Jerusalem stories and tried to generate a concurrent sense of context and differentiation through my adaptation of the ViewMaster binoculars."

Each of the 18 wheels focuses on a different aspect of Jerusalem including photographs depicting daily life in Jerusalem, religion and history, politics and protest, food and nightlife and more. For a selection of these limited edition pieces, Erez invited a group of renowned and decorated Israeli photographers including Alex Levac, Ziv Koren, Yoram Amir, Menahem Kahana and Hila Harel, to create a wheel from their personal photography collections. Additional wheels were compiled from specially commissioned photo shoots.

Wheels include:

Jerusalem is Occupation

Jerusalem is Protest

Jerusalem is America

Jerusalem is Sane
