A true poet of the keyboard, American pianist Murray Perahia makes a welcome return for a recital of intense music making. Having had such keyboard legends as Vladimir Horowitz and Mieczyslaw Horszowski as mentors, Perahia has won three Grammys and was voted into the inaugural Gramophone Hall of Fame in 2012 after winning eight Gramophone Awards in previous years. 

The program will include:

HAYDN: Sonata in A-Flat major, Hob. XVI:46
BEETHOVEN: Piano Sonata No. 26 in E-Flat major, Op. 81a “Les Adieux”
FRANCK: Prélude, Choral et Fugue, Op. 21
CHOPIN: Scherzo No. 1 in B minor, Op. 20
