Description

This antique steel engraving by Bristish landscape artist W.H. Bartlett captures the magnificent views of the Hudson River in the early 1800s from the hills of West Point, the river is dotted with sailboats.  Drawn by W.H. Bartlett, engraved by R. Wallis, London.  As with many of his prints, it was published in American Scenery, or Land, Lake, and River: Illustrations of Transatlantic Nature, with text by Nathaniel Parker Willis. (London: George Virtue, 26, Ivy Lane, 1840), 2 vol.  


This print is in mint condition.


Details:  Print image without title measures 6 3/4" x 4 1/2"; matte opening measures 8 1/4" x 6 1/2"; matte measures 19 1/2" x 13 1/2".
